Built from curiosity

I grew up in an immigrant, first-generation household where resourcefulness was less of a trait and more of a necessity. New toys were rare, so broken ones became my first engineering lab. I opened them up, studied what made them work, and tried to bring them back to life—usually after experiments involving bent parts and every button being pressed at once.

Somewhere between missing screws and questionable reassembly, I learned how much I enjoy solving problems. That instinct still guides me: understand the system first, then repair it, reverse engineer it, or find a way to make it more useful and more interesting.

From science to software

I entered college on the pre-med track because science fed that curiosity, but Computer Science made everything click. It gave me the same two-part process I had always loved: learn how the system works, then get hands-on and iterate. The objects changed from toys to software; the curiosity never did.
